Primary and Dental Care
Jacksonville boasts a network of primary care clinics, community health centers, and private practices. Access to continuous primary and dental care is key to maintaining a healthy life and keeping an eye for serious issues. However, access to primary care remains a challenge for many Jacksonville residents, limited availability, long wait times for appointments, barriers related to insurance and affordability can prevent individuals from getting the care they need. Having access to a primary and dental care system will help reduce the number of emergency visits and improve the community's health in the future.
Healthcare Availability
Without the professionals in each healthcare area, there would not be the availability to help those in need. In Jacksonville we have
317
registered Medical doctors per 100k people, compared to Florida's count of
257
registered medical doctors. This is a great step in making the primary care available to all citizens. In comparison we have
1341
nurses per 100k people in the City of Jacksonville.

Healthcare Availability Dental
In Jacksonville, we are facing a lack of affordable dental care. Many residents, particularly those from low-income communities, lack access to routine dental services, leading to untreated dental conditions, oral health disparities, and preventable dental emergencies. With dental care being separated from whole-person care it has been excluded many times in traditional insurance coverage. There are also few resources on how to find low-cost dental clinics, and there is a significant waiting period for these services. Compared to Florida's 59 dentists per 100k people, Jacksonville has a total of 53 dentists per 100k people
