Public Works

Public Works is in charge of resurfacing roads, keeping public spaces mowed, and handling waste management. Public Works has seen over 99% success rate in waste management this past year and is continuing to keep the success rate up. More than 100,000 acres have been mowed in the City of Jacksonville with the largest amounts being mowed in the summer. Public Works is continuing to work on resurfacing roads with more than 70 miles of road resurfaced the past 12 months.

Whether it's trash pickup, beautification, or infrastructure, you can count on COJ Public Works to make sure your city is looking good.

In the last twelve month, 165,432 acres of grass has been mowed in Jacksonville. Over 83 miles of road have been resurfaced during this period. The Solid Waste team achieved 99.73% success rate in July, with only 9,245 missed pickups out of more than 3.4 million pickups – WOW!
