Join Us in Celebrating Our Remarkable Older Adults:
The 23rd Annual Senior Citizen of the Year Awards!

The Council on Elder Affairs, in collaboration with the City of Jacksonville, proudly presents the 23rd Annual Senior Citizen of the Year Awards—a distinguished event dedicated to honoring the extraordinary contributions of our city’s older adults. Each year we will recognize the outstanding male and female Senior Citizens of the Year, who have given selflessly to improve our community, and/or to the lives of other older adults over the past year. Additionally, we honor the distinguished recipient of the James L. Fortuna Lifetime Achievement Award, celebrating an individual whose lifelong dedication and service have made a profound impact on our community.

Held annually in tribute to National Senior Citizens Day, this inspiring event shines a spotlight on the wisdom, achievements, and enduring spirit of our older adults. National Senior Citizens Day, celebrated on  August 21st in 2024, is a time to acknowledge and celebrate the remarkable contributions of older adults who inspire us with their dedication, compassion, and commitment to making a difference. They exemplify the incredible potential of aging with purpose and grace.

The recipients will be presented at the pretigious awards luncheon to celebrate their remarkable achievements on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Jacksonville Public Library - Downtown, located at 303 N.
