Pursuant to Section 286.011(8), Florida Statutes, and as requested by the Office of General Counsel and announced at a City Council Meeting, I am setting a litigation shade meeting of the Council to consider settlement negotiations and strategy sessions related to litigation expenditures as to the following case: Jacksonville Branch of the NAACP, et. al, v. City of Jacksonville, et. al., Case No. 3:22-cv-493-MMH-LLL, U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida The meeting will be conducted on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the Council Offices, Suite 425, Conference Room A, Fourth Floor, City Hall, 117 West Duval Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32202. The meeting is expected to last 90 minutes.
Notice is hereby given that the Critical Quality of Life Issues (CQLI) Special Committee will meet on the dates and times noted below in the Lynwood Roberts Room, located at 117 West Duval Street, 1st floor, City Hall - St. James Building, 117 W. Duval Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202. The purpose of these meetings will be to review and discuss progress on each working group issue; provide direction regarding same; and review and finalize the final report for the Special Committee.
In accordance with the provisions of Section 674.206, Ordinance Code, the Honorable Lenny Curry, Mayor of the City of Jacksonville, has requested that the Jacksonville City Council convene in a Special Meeting. Mayor Curry's Chief Administrative Officer will address the City Council Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber, 117 West Duval Street, 1st Floor, City Hall-St. James Building. At the conclusion of the Special Council Meeting, the City Council will adjourn and immediately convene its regular meeting. Mayor Curry's Chief Administrative Officer will report to the Council on the status of Tropical Storm Nicole to provide facts and circumstances concerning the disaster potential and his recommendations in connection therewith.
