Council Members Rahman K. Johnson (District 14) and Nick Howland (At-Large Group 3) will host an unveiling ceremony for the Johnnie Mae Chappell Monument. The ceremony will take place on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at Lincoln Villa Community Center, 7866 New Kings Road, Jacksonville, FL 32219.

This event commemorates the life and legacy of Johnnie Mae Chappell, whose tragic death in 1964 became a symbol of the fight for civil rights in Jacksonville. The unveiling follows the passage of Ordinance 2024-697, demonstrating the city's commitment to acknowledging its history and advancing justice.

Notice is hereby given that the City Council Personnel Committee will meet on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. in the Lynwood Roberts Room, 1st Floor, City Hall, St. James Building, located at 117 West Duval Street, Jacksonville, Florida. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the Beyond Feedback Survey, the Chief of the Value Adjustment Board Division position, and any other matters within the purview of the Personnel Committee.
