Celebrate Fall with Friends of Hemming Park

Friends of Hemming Park is proud to host events in Hemming Park located at 135 W. Monroe Street in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville. All activities listed below are free and open to the public.

Representatives from five Northeast Florida counties gathered in the Atrium of City Hall on Monday, Sept. 30, to announce the launch of a new initiative to end veterans suicide. This effort is the first of its kind in the country, uniting veterans and allies to activate local assets, stand watch, and build a life-saving network for veterans in need. 
 

For more than two decades, Jacksonville has contributed to the Florida Coastal Cleanup by hosting cleanup events at the beaches and along the city’s waterways. 

Some of Jacksonville’s most active senior citizens will celebrate the beginning of the 2019 Senior Games, a series of athletic competitions and games hosted by the Senior Services Division, with an opening ceremony in Hemming Park at 11 a.m.

Multiple family-friendly events are taking place Saturday, September 21, 2019

The City of Jacksonville’s Keep Jacksonville Beautiful Commission invites residents to join one of the world’s largest water protection efforts by contributing to the 2019 Florida Coastal Cleanup. On Saturday, Sept. 21, volunteers can visit various locations in the city to remove trash and debris from beaches, lakes and rivers; start and end times vary by location. Event leaders will be available at each site to register volunteers and provide materials, including bags and gloves.
