The National Weather Service Jacksonville has issued a Freeze Warning for Monday night. They have high confidence of an extended duration of dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills tonight through Thursday. Nightly freezes and dangerous wind chills will remain through Saturday.

In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the following City government offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025

The City of Jacksonville, JEA, and Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) are proud to receive a $2.8 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to fund the installation of 100 electric vehicle (EV) chargers across public spaces and educational campuses in Jacksonville. However, the increased use of heating equipment during winter brings a heightened risk of home fires, three of which occurred overnight. The City of Jacksonville Emergency Preparedness Division is urging residents to follow essential heating safety practices to stay warm and safe.

Osborn III Convention Center. Breakfast begins at 7 a.m., followed by the program at 8 a.m., led by hosts Dawn Lopez from Action News Jax and Anthony Austin from First Coast News. The theme of this year’s event is “Audacious Faith in the Future,” which is a phrase from Dr. King’s 1964 Nobel Prize Acceptance Speech.
