Last Tuesday, Comcast experienced trouble with the 6:00 p.m. live feed for televising the Jacksonville City Council Meeting (October 28, 2003). Viewers at home lost picture and/or sound during the transmission of the meeting. Although attempts were made to correct the problem, originally reported to be a fiber cut between City Hall and Comcast's Richard Street Station, additional work will need to be done by Comcast to repair the problem. We apologize for any inconvenience to viewers trying to watch the Council meeting from home last Tuesday.
In an effort to keep the public informed, we have made arrangements with Comcast to air the meeting in its entirety several times over the next week. The October 28, 2003 meeting will be aired as follows:
Channel 29, Thursday, October 30, 2003 - 5:30 p.m.
Channel 29, Friday, October 31, 2003 – 4:00 p.m.
Channel 57, Monday, November 3, 2003 – 7:30 p.m.
Channel 57, Wednesday, November 5, 2003 – 7:30 p.m.
Additionally, for the past several City Council meetings the electronic equipment, which allows the vote to be displayed to the Council Members and audience has been malfunctioning. Although attempts were made to repair it locally, it will have to be sent back to the manufacturer in New York for repair or replacement.
