When JaxParks’ outdoor pool season kicks off on Saturday, May 23, Fort Caroline Pool will be one of 33 outdoor pools opening to the public, after being closed for three years due to damage from Tropical Storm Debbie.
Repairs to the pool included the construction of a new pump house, a partial new pool deck, new pool equipment, electrical work, utility work and site work. The project cost was $197,000.
VRL Architects, The Rose Group and the city’s Public Works and Parks, Recreation and Community Services departments managed the work.
Fort Caroline Pool will be open for Thursday’s event from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and will reopen 11 a.m., Saturday, May 23 with the start of pool season. Recreation activities and swim lesson registration will also be included at the event.
