City Council President Stephen Joost (At-Large, Group 3) will announce the nomination of three new members to serve on the Police and Fire Pension Fund board of trustees. The media are encouraged to attend the announcement.

The three new members of the board of trustees are being appointed to complete the requirements of pending Ordinance 2012-203 which will change the membership of the 5-member board of trustees of the Police and Fire Pension Fund by eliminating the position formerly selected by the other four sitting members of the board and replacing it with a third position appointed by the City Council (increasing from 2 to 3 City Council appointments). The bill provides for the replacement of current trustees Barbara Jaffe and Peter Sleiman (City Council appointees) and Nathaniel Glover (elected by the other trustees), whose terms expire in 2014. The other two members of the board are a police officer and a firefighter elected by their fellow officers.
