Notice is hereby given that Council Member Anna Lopez Brosche will meet with Council Member Scott Wilson to discuss the Block by Block Study (Market Value Analysis), on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Conference Room A, located at 117 W. Duval St., 4th Floor, St. James Building, Jacksonville, Florida, 32202.
The Block by Block study was commissioned by the Jessie Ball duPont Fund, a report for which was released in October 2015 (link to report). This study combined multiple publicly-available data points for every block in the City of Jacksonville to establish a grading scale for each block. Mr. Ira Goldstein from The Reinvestment Fund who conducted the Block by Block analysis will explain the study and the resulting tool that can be used to understand block-level demographics within a community, as well as how other communities have used the tool in the policy-making process.
Since this is a topic relevant for the Special Committee on Finance and we are working to take advantage of Mr. Goldstein’s pre-arranged travel to Jacksonville on this date, all Finance Committee members are encouraged to attend. Given the broad versatility of the tool and the ability to drill down to understand district demographics, all Council members are encouraged to attend.
