City Council Special Meeting - Collective Bargaining Impasse

Pursuant to the requirements of Section 447.403, Florida Statutes, I am calling a public Special Council Meeting for Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the City Council Chambers for the City Council to, regarding the collective bargaining impasse between the City of Jacksonville and the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA).

 

1.         Conduct a public hearing on all matters exclusive of retirement benefits at which time the parties shall explain their positions with respect to the rejected recommendation of the special magistrate; and

 

2.         To take such action as the Council deems to be in the public interest, including the interest of the public employees involved, to resolve all disputed impasse issues exclusive of retirement benefits.

 

It is urgent that all Council Members attend. 

 

Council Members are reminded that we are presently within an “insulated” period until the conclusion of the impasse dispute and we are not permitted to discuss the impasse issues with representatives of the Administration or the LIUNA.
