Notice is hereby given that the Honorable Michael Boylan, Chairperson Committee on the Future of JEA will host a Future of JEA Lunch and Learn Meetings to be held on Monday, March 9, 2020, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm in the Council Chamber located at 117 West Duval Street, 1st Floor City Hall, St. James Building Jacksonville, Florida 32202.
 
  • Monday, March 9, 2020 11:00 am – 1:00 pm:   Topic: Susan Kelly & Amy Zubaly will speak to the state of the municipally owned utilities throughout the state and across the nation. Amy Zubaly and Sue Kelly will provide a presentation on the public power industry in Florida as well as across the nation. They will discuss the benefits of being locally owned and locally controlled and provide an overview of public power governance structures, rates, reliability and hurricane restoration, including the national public power mutual aid network. They will also provide specific examples of programs and services offered by other public power utilities.
Jacksonville City Council Members, JEA Board Members, all Board and Commission Members holding positions as appointed by the Jacksonville City Council, all Elected and Constitutional Officers, and interested parties are invited to attend.
