The Jacksonville Charter Revision Commission will hold a meeting on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the City Council Chamber, 1st floor, City Hall, 117 W. Duval Street. The agenda will include the following confirmed speakers: Philip Claypool, Florida Ethics Commission; and Leslie Jacobs, founder of Educate Now, a non-profit dedicated to rebuilding and reforming New Orleans’ public schools after Hurricane Katrina. Depending on the availability of time, the Commission may discuss one or more of the following issues: Staggered City Council terms – ideas and recommendations for further City consideration; and Legal considerations regarding appointed vs. elected School Board. Other speakers may be scheduled at the discretion of the Chair. The commission may entertain motions and vote on one or more of the items listed above. All interested parties are invited to attend.
