Notice is hereby given that the Jacksonville Charter Revision Commission will hold a meeting on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the City Council Chamber, 1st floor, City Hall, 117 W. Duval Street. The Commission will discuss issues related to staggering of City Council terms of office; elected vs. appointed Sheriff; and public education governance. A presentation will be made on the subject of public education reform by Whitney Tilson, founder and Managing Partner of T2 Partners LLC and the Tilson Mutual Funds, and co-founder of Democrats for Educational Reform. Other speakers may be scheduled at the discretion of the Chair. The commission may entertain a motion and vote on the issue of elected vs. appointed Sheriff. All interested parties are invited to attend.
