From people including elected officials, educators and activists, to places such as museums and parks, Jacksonville is rich with African-American history.

February has been declared American Heart Month by the American Heart Association. Throughout the observance, citizens are encouraged to adopt a healthier lifestyle by making more heart-healthy choices including increased physical activity and eating a healthy diet.

This afternoon, Mayor Lenny Curry joined Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown and Bills fans via Skype for good-natured banter in support of their respective NFL team. During the conversation, a wager was made -- a Jacksonville win will score us Buffalo wings and beer, a Buffalo win will earn them homegrown favorites, Firehouse subs and Intuition beer. We look forward to chowing down on wings.
