Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Council will be held on Monday, July 16, 2012 at 9:00 a.m., in the Council Chambers, 1^st Floor, City Hall, St. James Building, located at 117 West Duval Street, Jacksonville, Florida.  The Honorable Alvin Brown, Mayor – City of Jacksonville will present the 2012-2013 Annual Budget address to the Jacksonville City Council at this time. 

On June 21, 2012, the Jacksonville Children’s Commission, its summer camp partners, and Jacksonville Education Commissioner Dr. Donnie Horner, will join communities across the country in the ninth annual celebration of Summer Learning Day. Summer Learning Day is a project driven by the National Summer Learning Association, which works to ensure that every child is safe, healthy, and engaged in learning during the summer. The event is designed to raise awareness about the importance of high-quality summer learning opportunities in the lives of young people, prevent learning loss over the summer and ultimately bring a close to the achievement gap.
