During a meeting with the Jacksonville City Council Monday, March 16, Mayor Lenny Curry declared that he is limiting crowd capacity of recreational and social gatherings and establishments to 50 people.

As announced by Mayor Lenny Curry earlier today and due to the health concerns of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), all City of Jacksonville Parks, including Hemming Park will be closed until further notice.  All activities within Hemming Park, including food trucks, live music, Kid Zone activities and festivals will be suspended until the City deems it safe for the public to return. While Duval County residents are preparing to set their clocks forward one hour for Daylight Saving Time, the City of Jacksonville’s Environmental Quality Division is reminding them to set lawn and landscape irrigation schedules to no more than two days per week. Designed to conserve Jacksonville’s water supply and reduce the amount of nutrients flowing into the St. Johns River, Chapter 366 of the City’s Ordinance Code limits watering to two days a week during Daylight Saving Time.

JaxParks is bringing residents together for good music and good eats with its new initiative, the Sunday Music Series, a free three-part event featuring local music artists and food trucks.
