To Flatten The Curve, Mayor Curry Restricts Capacity Limit to 50 Patrons

During a meeting with the Jacksonville City Council Monday, March 16, Mayor Lenny Curry declared that he is limiting crowd capacity of recreational and social gatherings and establishments to 50 people.

Hemming Park Suspends March Activities due to COVID-19

March 13, 2020

As announced by Mayor Lenny Curry earlier today and due to the health concerns of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), all City of Jacksonville Parks, including Hemming Park will be closed until further notice.  All activities within Hemming Park, including food trucks, live music, Kid Zone activities and festivals will be suspended until the City deems it safe for the public to return. Please watch our social media carefully by for any future changes or updates. 

Daylight Saving Time Brings New Lawn Irrigation Schedule for Duval County

While Duval County residents are preparing to set their clocks forward one hour for Daylight Saving Time, the City of Jacksonville’s Environmental Quality Division is reminding them to set lawn and landscape irrigation schedules to no more than two days per week. Designed to conserve Jacksonville’s water supply and reduce the amount of nutrients flowing into the St. Johns River, Chapter 366 of the City’s Ordinance Code limits watering to two days a week during Daylight Saving Time.
