The City of Jacksonville has designated August 10, 2024 as a Heat Emergency Day because it is the third consecutive day a Heat Advisory (maximum heat index is expected to be between 108°F and 112°F) has been issued for Duval County.

The City of Jacksonville just received its updated credit ratings and Fitch upgraded the City’s credit rating by two levels – from AA- to AA+ – in a reflection of Jacksonville’s robust financial health, strategic monetary management, and strong fiscal outlook into the future. S&P Global Ratings (S&P) and KBRA reaffirmed ratings of AA and all three credit rating agencies indicated a stable outlook.

Mayor Deegan Presents Proposed Budget to City Council

Mayor Donna Deegan presented the proposed 2024-2025 budget to the Jacksonville City Council this morning. The proposal includes a $1.92 billion general fund budget and $489 million in the 2025 portion of the five-year Capital Improvement Plan, which is $1.95 billion in total from 2025-2029.
