City of Jacksonville

In accordance with Ordinance 2005-361-E, the 1st Committee week and City Council meeting of the month of July are suspended for a summer break.  The regularly scheduled Council meeting cycle will resume with Standing Committee meetings on Monday, July 18, 2016.

City Council Offices will be closed in observance of Independence Day.

Notice is hereby given that the Jacksonville City Council will meet for the purpose of hosting the 2016- 2017 Installation of Council Leadership Ceremony scheduled 4:00 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2016, Ritz Theatre Auditorium, located at 829 North Davis Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32202.  Immediately following the installation ceremony a reception will be held in the Museum and Jazz Hall located within the Ritz Theatre.   

Notice is hereby given that Council Member Katrina Brown will hold a meeting on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. in Lynwood Roberts Room, 117 West Duval Street City Hall St. James Building, 1^st Floor, Jacksonville, Florida 32202.  The purpose of the meeting is to discuss The Citizens Review Board.

At the request of the JEA and pursuant to the statutory exemption from Sunshine Law application found in Section 447.605 Florida Statutes, which states:

447.605 Public meetings and records law; exemptions and compliance.--

(1)  All discussions between the chief executive officer of the public employer, or his or her representative, and the legislative body or the public employer relative to collective bargaining shall be closed and exempt from the provisions of s. 286.011.

I am convening a full Council Collective Bargaining “closed shade meeting” to be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Conference Room A, 4^th Floor, 117 West Duval Street, 4th Floor, City Hall, St. James Building.  The purpose of this meeting is to be informed of and discuss the direction of JEA’s collective bargaining initiatives.  It is urgent that all Council Members attend.  

Notice is hereby given that Council Member Joyce Morgan will hold a Town Hall Meeting Monday, June 27, 2016 at 6:00pm at United House of Prayer Ministries, 970 Arlington Road North, Jacksonville, Florida 32211, to share your concerns and get updates from her on council business affecting the community. Council Members are invited. 

Notice is hereby given that Council Members Sam Newby and Reginald Gaffney will meet with SPAR regarding replacement of Main Street trees in Springfield.  The meeting will be held on Monday, June 27^th at 2 p.m. in Conference Room A, located at 117 West Duval Street, Suite 425, City Hall St. James Building. All Council members are invited to attend. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a beautification project for Main Street to replace dying trees.

Notice is hereby given that Council Member Doyle Carter will meet with Council Vice President Boyer, Council Member Brosche and Council Member Newby to discuss North Florida Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) City Priority Projects. The meeting will take place on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Conference Room A, located at 117 West Duval Street, Suite 425, City Hall St. James Building.
