Stanley Weston joined the General Counsel’s Office in September 2017. Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel, Mr. Weston was a partner from 2000-2017 and an associate from 1994-1999 at Moseley, Prichard, Parrish, Knight & Jones where he litigated various complex matters in state, federal and administrative courts including federal longshore harbor workers compensation, railway labor, admiralty and maritime law, telephone consumer protection act, labor and employment matters.
Prior to working at Moseley, Prichard, Parrish, Knight & Jones, Attorney Weston worked at the Office of General Counsel, as an Assistant General Counsel from 1986-1993 advising city departments, interpreting the Jacksonville Charter, municipal code and state law. He represented numerous boards and commissions, drafted ordinances and litigated matters on behalf of the City.
Mr. Weston is "AV" rated, Ten Consecutive Years (2007-2017) by Martindale Hubbell, the highest peer-review rating possible for practicing attorneys, indicating professional excellent in regard to legal abilities and ethics.
In 2012, Mr. Weston was appointed by the Governor to the Florida Commission on Ethics and served until August of 2017 after several reappointments by the Governor. He served as its Chair for 2015-2016.
Mr. Weston has taught Ethics, Labor Law and Constitutional Law as an Adjunction Professor of Law at Florida Coastal School of Law.
Mr. Weston is a member of the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, United States District Court Northern District of Florida, United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and a Certified Circuit Civil Mediator.
Mr. Weston is also an Emeritus Master Member of the Chester Bedell Inn of Court; Jacksonville Bar Association, Federal Bar Association; American Bar Association, D.W. Perkins Bar Association; (DRI) Defense Research Institute; Leadership Jacksonville Class of 1999.
Mr. Weston has served in numerous capacities in his professional and civic activities including as a member of the Grievance Committee and Magistrate Selection Committee for the Jacksonville Division U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and Fourth Circuit Fee Arbitration Committee for the Florida Bar. He also has served as President of the Sanctuary of Northeast Florida (The Sanctuary on 8th) and is a past board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
