The next Vets 4 Vets Quarterly Gathering of Veterans will be on Saturday, January 12, 2019. These gatherings are an opportunity for Veterans (active duty also welcome) from all over Northeast Florida to meet with local veteran serving organizations and resources, listen to speakers, share in camaraderie and work toward supporting each other. This event also includes a free hot lunch!

Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 524 1st Annual Topgolf Tournament

There will be a fundraiser for the Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) Chapter 524 at Topgolf on January 6th. All proceeds from this charity golf scramble will go directly to help emplace a Purple Heart monument in the Jacksonville National Cemetery.

Free Legal Counseling for Veterans

The City of Jacksonville Military Affairs and Veterans Department (MAVD), in coordination with Three Rivers Legal Services, Inc. (TRLS) and Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps, will host its free monthly legal consultation for veterans and their families.
 
Three Rivers Legal Services provides assistance with family Law (limited), social security/SSI, discharge review assistance, VA pensions, guardianship for disabled, unfair collections, last will and testament, and various other civil legal services.
 
The City of Jacksonville Military Affairs and Veterans Department and Three Rivers Legal Services are dedicated to helping veterans and their families with their legal needs. If you would like to be considered for further assistance, applications for representation will be available

This event is sponsored and organized by an employee resource group called the SOAR Veteran’s Mayo Employees Resource Group (MERG).  Mayo Employee Resource Groups or MERGs (pronounced merges) are employee-organized groups that form around a common dimension of diversity. MERGs may focus on traditional diversity dimensions such as ethnicity, age, and gender.
 
The SOAR MERG purpose includes the following; to support the needs of Mayo Clinic employees who have a current or historical relationship to or a simple appreciation of the US Armed Services. SOAR will function as a resource for Mayo Clinic staff, their families, our patients, and community to provide an inclusive environment bridging interests and developing common ground between civilian and military cultures. In addition, SOAR serves as a social and professional connection to other military resources and events in the community while aligning with Mayo’s mission, vision, and values

The SOAR MERG will be hosting a Veteran’s Resource Fair on December 11th from 10 am - 2pm in the Kinne Auditorium, Mayo Clinic.

Red Cross Resiliency Program
