CALL FOR ENTRIES: A White Cane Safety Awareness Art Contest for High School Students Sponsored by the City of City of Jacksonville’s Disabled Services Division

The City of Jacksonville’s Public Affairs Office has been recognized with a Savvy Award by the City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA), a national network of government communicators. The office earned third place out of 70 entries in the Printed Publications - Catalogs/Guides category for its Communications Style Guide.

A glimpse into Jacksonville’s rich history revealed a very thoughtful and carefully identified collection of items placed and sealed in a copper box nearly 60 years ago. Mayor Lenny Curry and City Council President Aaron Bowman opened the time capsule while an enthusiastic crowd gathered in Council Chambers to marvel and celebrate its contents.

Letters to future Council members, municipal budget, financial report, and employee directory among items to be revealed. 

Public parks play a valuable role in helping citizens develop a sense of community by providing spaces for people to interact with each other, as well as meet new people.

Jacksonville citizens are invited to join the City of Jacksonville, the Northside Coalition of Jacksonville, Baptist Health and the Department of Health at the 2018 Northside Community Festival.

The Senior Services Division will kick off its 2018 “Forever Fit 50 & Beyond” Senior Games Friday.

The required technical assistance workshop for the HOME Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) will take place Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Ed Ball building (214 N. Hogan St. – 32202, first floor training room).
