Each fiscal year, the City of Jacksonville Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) partners with First Coast No More Homeless Pets to fund free spay and neuter surgeries for cats throughout the Jacksonville community.

- Gift recipients include Duval County Public Schools, Ken Knight Drive Neighborhood, Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville, the I.M. Sulzbacher Center, and Charles Reese Park 

The Military Affairs and Veterans department (MAVD) works diligently to meet the needs of members of the armed forces, veterans and their families, assisting them with filing claims and applying for social and educational assistance.

The Federal Impact Aid Program is designed to assist United States local school districts that have lost property tax revenue due to the presence of tax-exempt Federal property, or that have experienced increased expenditures due to the enrollment of federally connected children.  For Duval County Public Schools, both scenarios apply.

CALL FOR ENTRIES: A White Cane Safety Awareness Art Contest for High School Students Sponsored by the City of City of Jacksonville’s Disabled Services Division

The City of Jacksonville’s Public Affairs Office has been recognized with a Savvy Award by the City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA), a national network of government communicators. The office earned third place out of 70 entries in the Printed Publications - Catalogs/Guides category for its Communications Style Guide.

A glimpse into Jacksonville’s rich history revealed a very thoughtful and carefully identified collection of items placed and sealed in a copper box nearly 60 years ago. Mayor Lenny Curry and City Council President Aaron Bowman opened the time capsule while an enthusiastic crowd gathered in Council Chambers to marvel and celebrate its contents.
