JACKSONVILLE, Fla., October 21, 2019 – More than 40 businesses and service providers are participating in this job fair for displaced employees of simulated gambling establishments. (Participants listed at end of press release.) The job fair is Thursday, October 24, 2019 between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The event will be held at Emmett Reed Community Center located at 1093 West 6^th Street, Jacksonville, FL 32209. While this job fair is designed to assist those affected by the closing of these establishments, this job fair is open to the public.

It's been another busy week here in Jacksonville!

Mayor Lenny Curry worked with public works crews in Northwest Jacksonville today fixing sidewalks, highlighting $14 million dollars in this years budget for new sidewalk construction and maintenance.

Lindsey Brock, Chair of the Jacksonville Charter Revision Commission, announces that the Commission will hold a town hall meeting on Thursday, October 17 at 5:30 p.m. in the Jacksonville City Council Chamber (City Hall at St. James, 117 W. Duval Street, Jacksonville) for the purpose of taking input from the general public on suggested changes to the City Charter.  Members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend the event and to make suggestions regarding proposals to amend the Charter to improve the operation, transparency, and responsiveness of City government.
