The lights are on after dark at several community centers and pools throughout Jacksonville. Every Friday and Saturday, now through August 3, 2019 teens ages 13-18 can visit 10 JaxParks locations from 6 - 10 p.m. for free food, music, swimming, basketball and more.

Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) wants to keep pets with their owners using a $50,000 grant from PetSmart Charities^®, the leading funder of animal welfare in North America. The money will expand ACPS’ Pet Safety Net Program, a pet retention initiative that provides resources — including supplies, animal behavioral training, funds for medical care and housing solutions — to residents in an effort to decrease the number of animals surrendered to the shelter.

Garbage Man Week, June 17 - 24, recognizes the thousands of men and women throughout the nation who affect the health of citizens with a career dedicated to the proper collection and disposal of waste and recyclables.

The ACPS Kitty Hall adoption event was a great success today. 7 kittens found forever homes, including 2 going home with our own WJXT4 Nikki Kimbleton - If you missed the event today, the ACPS is open most nights until 7:00 PM.

Celebrate Jacksonville's Public Art Week from June 17th through June 23rd with daily events and activities in beautiful Hemming Park, located in the heart of downtown. Join us at lunchtime for hands on arts activities, live music, dance performances and food truck fare; the new Hemming Park Sculpture Garden opens on Thursday, June 20th; there will be free public art tours and a free concert by New Orleans-based funk band Flow Tribe on Saturday, June 22nd. MX Sports Pro Racing and NBC Sports selected WW Ranch Motocross Park to host the inaugural US Assure Florida National Presented by Ring Power. The  event on Saturday, June 22, 2019 as part of the 48th season of the world’s most prestigious off-road motorcycle racing series. The event will be televised on NBC Sports.

The first Landlord Training Program course of 2019 will be held at the Legends Community Center (5054 Soutel Drive – 32208) from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on  Tuesday, June 11, 2019.
