Office, State Attorney’s Office, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement from surrounding areas, victim advocates, victims of crime and their families will participate. The kickoff provides an opportunity to raise awareness about victims of crime and the services and programs available to assist victims in Jacksonville.)

(Sponsored by the Justice Coalition, this event honors the lives taken by violent crime by symbolically tossing a rose in the St. Johns River.)

Victims’ Awards and Recognition Luncheon
Jacksonville Downtown Main Library
(Sponsored by the Mayor’s Victim Assistance Advisory Council (VAAC), the luncheon honors crime victims and their families. Individuals and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding achievements above and beyond on behalf of crime victims and victims’ rights will be recognized and presented awards. The award categories are Courageous Victim, Outstanding Victim Advocate, Judicial Victim Advocate, Law Enforcement Advocate and Media.
