Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) and community partner Jacksonville Humane Society have a one day goal of clearing the shelters!
The National Clear the Shelters Day observance (Aug. 18) encourages citizens throughout the country to visit their local shelters to adopt their new pets. In honor of the observance, the shelters are hosting an adoption event sponsored by PetSmart Charities, at PetSmart Southside (8801 Southside Blvd. - 32256).
The adoption event begins at 10 a.m. each day. All animals come spayed or neutered and microchipped.
The ACPS shelter (2020 Forest St. - 32204) is open Saturday and Sunday (10 a.m. - 6 p.m.) and Tuesday - Friday (noon - 7 p.m.)
