The Jacksonville Sister Cities Association will host the inaugural "World Cup Soccer Tournament" featuring local teams representing the countries where Jacksonville has partnerned with Sister Cities at Hodges Field at the Bolles School during the last week in July.
The 2011 JSCA World Cup is the inaugural soccer tournament presented by Jacksonville Sister Cities Association in collaboration with the men's Beaches Adult Soccer League. The goal for 2011 is for an event between local teams representing Brazil, Agentina, South Korea, Russia, France, South Africa, Puerto Rico and China. In 2012 the goal is to have teams from each of the sister cities come to Jacksonville to play in a truly international tournament.
The kick-off ceremony will be 7 - 9 a.m., Friday, July 22, with first and second round matches played July 23-24. Playoff and Championship matches will be played July 30-31.
