The Environmental Justice Small Grant was awarded to the EEC to provide educational workshops on community gardening and to demonstrate how the presence and accessibility of community health centers can improve a community’s overall health.

The grant will be used to focus efforts on Jacksonville’s Health Zone 1. Some topics covered at this event include: community gardening and seasonal planting; container gardening; aquaponics; community health; healthy cooking and its benefits; composting; and rain barrel demonstrations.
