The 7th Annual Emergency Preparedness Conference for Persons with Disabilities, hosted by the Independent Living Resource Center (ILRC) of Northeast Florida, will be held at the Jacksonville Public Library on Thursday, June 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This conference is open to anyone who wants to learn more about financial preparation, parent education, shelters and special needs considerations.
Bryan Vaughan, statewide disability coordinator for the Florida Division of Emergency Management; Laura D’Alisera, the City of Jacksonville’s emergency preparedness plans supervisor; Rear Admiral (ret.) Vic Guillory, director of the City of Jacksonville’s Military, Veteran & Disabled Services Department; and American Red Cross representatives will be in attendance. Several other nonprofit organizations and vendors also will be on hand.
