“Our city is truly blessed to have such a strong and committed military and veteran community,” said Mayor Lenny Curry. “We are a military city – It’s a big part of our identity – our heart and soul. Our salute to veterans is not just a single observance for Veterans Day – It’s a year-round commitment. It is an honor to salute the men and women who have served and currently serve our nation.”
The parade will feature Mayor Lenny Curry, Sheriff Mike Williams, retired
Lt. Col. Rogers B. ("Tiger") Holmes as the parade Grand Marshal, and Harold Davis, retired U.S. Army, Jacksonville’s oldest veteran. In addition, it will include senior military officials, active-duty and retired military units, veterans groups, local high school marching bands, military organizations, decorative floats, giant balloons, JROTC units and more.
“The Law Offices of Ron Sholes, P.A. is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the 2016 Jacksonville Veterans Day parade. As a law firm of military veteran attorneys we know about the sacrifices that service men and woman, and their families, have made to protect our freedoms,” said Ron Sholes.
