September is the peak of hurricane season. The month is also annually recognized as National Preparedness Month, which serves as a reminder for everyone to prepare now for the types of emergencies that can happen locally.
The City of Jacksonville is encouraging all citizens to become JaxReady. Emergencies can occur with little or no notice, and being prepared minimizes the adverse impact on those affected. Jacksonville residents should download the recently updated JaxReady app to monitor weather threats and plan for evacuation in the event of a natural disaster. The app provides access to current threat levels, weather reports, wildfire updates and up-to-the-minute news feeds for emergency preparedness and evacuation. The 2017
