rd “PNC Arts Alive Day.” “Jacksonville has an extensive population of talented artists and corporate leaders who value and appreciate art. These funds will increase access to visual and performing arts activities and resources throughout our community.”
Beginning May 4th, PNC will be accepting grant proposals for $10,000 and above from qualified arts organizations that support fresh and emerging arts programs, value-added public programming and creative use of technology, while seeking to expand audiences. Supporting Arts and Economic Development
Since its debut in 2009,
PNC Arts Alive! has awarded approximately $13 million in grants to enterprising cultural organizations in Columbus, Ohio, Philadelphia and St. Louis, served by PNC, through funding delivered by the PNC Foundation, which receives its principal funding from The PNC Financial Services Group.
PNC Arts Alive! has supported new exhibitions and festivals, pop-up theater and music performances, mobile arts vans, family arts programs and more. This award-winning program has earned recognition from Americans for the Arts in New York City along with regional arts organizations.
“The arts impact more than our emotions,” said Cressman Bronson, PNC regional president for Florida east, speaking on behalf of the Foundation. “The bottom line is a strong arts community is a significant driver of economic success. By bringing Arts Alive to Jacksonville, we’re helping to bring creative and exciting new programs for people of all ages to this community.”
Bronson said the arts and culture industry in the state of Florida generates $49.7 billion in annual revenues per the state’s Division of Cultural Affairs, plus creates new jobs, boosts tourism and invigorates businesses.
Grants recipients are selected by a committee composed of officials from arts and community organizations and PNC. Recipients of the PNC Arts Alive! grants will be announced in October 2016.
