Seniors gathered at the 2016 Mayor's Fish-A-Thon at Hanna Park on March 23, 2016

Over 1,700 Seniors Participate in Mayor’s Fish-A-Thon Held at Hanna Park

March 23, 2016
More than 1,700 Jacksonville seniors gathered at Hanna Park March 23 for fishing, dancing and games during the annual Mayor’s Fish-A-Thon. This is the 42nd year of the event hosted by the City’s Senior Services division.
Mayor Curry and his family spent time fishing along the lake before presenting the awards for the fishing contest. The event is held every year in Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park near the Mayport community, known for its beach access, campgrounds and many hiking and bike trails.

The City’s Senior Services Division administers community-wide social service programs serving older adults in Jacksonville. The Fish-A-Thon is one of many cultural, educational and recreational events held throughout the year for senior citizens in Jacksonville.

These seniors sure know how to have a good time! #MayorsAnnualFishaThon #ilovejax #Jax #HannaPark #beaches
