Mayor Names New Intergovernmental Affairs Director, Council Liaisons to Administration

Mayor Lenny Curry has named Jordan Elsbury, Director, Intergovernmental Affairs, filling the position to be vacated by Ali Korman Shelton on May 18. Additionally, Leeann Krieg and Chiquita Moore will join him as Intergovernmental Affairs liaisons.
“These roles are very important to my administration,” said Mayor Lenny Curry. “I look forward to the tremendous knowledge, leadership and experiences Jordan, Leeann, and Chiquita will bring as we work diligently to meet the needs of all citizens.”
Elsbury currently serves as the administration’s Intergovernmental Affairs Liaison where he researches, monitors, and advocates for mayoral legislative priorities with City Council, while helping to build and support relationships with state and federal officials. A Southeastern Louisiana University graduate, Elsbury’s career began in Louisiana where he worked for the Republican Party of Louisiana as a regional political director. Elsbury later relocated to Jacksonville to serve as campaign coordinator and aide to Curry during the 2015 mayoral election. In this capacity, he assisted in the development and implementation of the campaign’s community outreach efforts and grassroots’ operation. Following the election, Elsbury was named Director of Appointments, before joining the Intergovernmental Affairs team.
An Indiana native, Elsbury’s leadership has earned him a number of awards and recognitions including the achievement of Eagle Scout, membership in Theta Xi fraternity, and designation as a 30 Under 30 Political Rising Star. He and his wife, Stephanie, have two daughters and live in Murray Hill.
A Jacksonville native, Leeann Krieg brings more than 13 years of local and state government experience to her role. She currently serves as the Executive Council Assistant to Group 4 At-Large Council Member Greg Anderson. Before joining the City of Jacksonville in 2012, Krieg worked for the State of Florida.
Chiquita Moore is the Executive Council Assistant to Group 5 At-Large Council Member Sam Newby, a role she assumed after serving as his campaign manager. Before joining the City, she worked in various roles with the Georgia Department of Corrections and Citigroup. Moore holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Florida.
Their appointments are effective May 21.
