Craig “CJ” Thompson has been appointed Director of Intra-Governmental Services for the City of Jacksonville.
In this capacity, Thompson will be responsible for leading the City’s Intra-Governmental Services Department, which includes the Procurement, Fleet Management and Information Technologies divisions, as well as the 630-CITY customer service center, the Grants and Compliance Office, and the Ombudsman Office.
Thompson comes to the City with over a decade of project management, strategic planning, and operations experiences gained while serving in leadership capacities at Florida Blue and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Most recently, Thompson served as County Manager for the Baker County Board of County Commissioners, a position he has held since 2010.
“I am delighted to add ‘CJ’ to a leadership team who’s already making great gains and efforts to strengthen and improve city services,” said Mayor Lenny Curry. “His extensive knowledge, background, and experiences in county government are strong and will be of great benefit to the City of Jacksonville.”
Thompson holds both a Bachelor of Science (Finance) and a Master of Business Administration from Florida State University. He begins employment with the City of Jacksonville on November 2, at a salary of $116,000.
