Mayor Lenny Curry, Sam Mousa and Chief Kurtis Honored With a Dinner Invite From Fire & Rescue Station 1

May 21, 2019
Yesterday evening, Mayor Lenny Curry, Sam Mousa and Chief Kurtis Wilson joined JFRD firefighters at Fire & Rescue Station 1 for dinner. It was a evening of many thank you's - thanks to Mayor Lenny Curry for improvements to the station, thanks to Sam Mousa for his service and thanks to outgoing chief Kurtis Wilson who is retiring after 25 years at Jacksonville Fire and Rescue.
"Fire men solve the world problems at the dinner table... it's the bonding part of our daily lives.," said Chief Wilson. "It gels the crews as family, and it's not often that they invite people in from the outside. It's a sacred time. So when they call and say 'Hey, we want to invite you to dinner," even as the Fire Chief, it's a big honor."
