Did you know that the Jacksonville region is home to more than 80,000 businesses that each operate with fewer than 10 employees? Together, these businesses supply Northeast Florida with almost 230,000 jobs.
Small business is a major focus for Mayor Alvin Brown. The mayor is inviting Jacksonville’s entrepreneurs to attend
Mayor Brown’s Business Builder, a free program that’s being done in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
The first in a series of seminars will be held Feb. 7 at the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center. For registration,

Participants will hear from U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Karen G. Mills and Tom and Sue Bennett of First Oklahoma Bank. The objective is to better align the business ideas of Jacksonville residents with the capital and credit opportunities needed to turn those ideas into reality.
