December 14, 2017
Mayor Lenny Curry announced today that Kevin Gay will serve as chair of the Kids Hope Alliance (KHA). Launched in August, KHA was created to strengthen and bolster programs and services that meet the critical needs of Jacksonville children. Gay is one of six mayoral board appointees approved at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
A Jacksonville native, Kevin Gay is founder and CEO of Operation New Hope-Ready4Work, an organization dedicated to improving the lives and communities of ex-offenders by providing housing, skill-based training leadership development, and employment opportunities. Gay previously worked in marketing at Zurich Insurance and the PGA Tour. He has been involved in a variety of community-based organizations including Leadership Jacksonville, Jacksonville Journey, Habijax and Gateway Community Services.
“Kevin is an outstanding leader and advocate in our community,” said Mayor Lenny Curry. “He has dedicated his life to ensuring that our most vulnerable citizens have the tools, resources and skills they need to be productive in our community. He will be a wonderful champion of hope for our children and our city. “
The Kids Hope Alliance board includes Rebekah Davis, Nathaniel Glover, Joe Peppers, Tyra Tutor and Dr. Marvin Wells.
