Art in the Park
Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Watch local artists create chalk masterpieces to celebrate the theme of Jacksonville’s “Bright Future." Citizens will vote on their favorites, with prizes given to the best in their categories. Food trucks and DJ Wizkidd will help set the festive mood!
Featured artists include HeartSpace Art, Christopher Clark, Elena Ohlander, Roosevelt Watson III and JWJ Park's own Randy Britt!

St. Patrick’s Day Lunch

Celebrate St. Patty’s Day in James Weldon Johnson Park with food trucks, St. Patrick’s Day themed concessions, live music by Joe Watts and a scavenger hunt! Search through the park to find our hidden St. Patrick’s Day rocks, take a picture of or with at least five rocks, post your pictures to Instagram, tag and follow @jamesweldonjohnsonpark to be placed in a drawing to win a FREE $50 #DTJax e-giftcard or one of our NEW JWJ Park T-shirts! The winners will be announced and tagged on our Instagram page.

Cajun Fest with Flow Tribe
Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Friends of James Weldon Johnson Park is excited to announce a new FREE festival coming to the park in May of 2021. CAJUN FEST with FLOW TRIBE will feature the best in New Orleans style food and music.
Music will include Bill “The Sauce Boss” Wharton, who cooks gumbo while he plays blues slide guitar, local band Let’s Ride Brass Band featuring their Duval Sound and New Orleans Funk & Soul outfit Flow Tribe.
Food trucks such as The Gumbo Man and more will feature Cajun and Creole dishes such as shrimp and grits, crab boil and beignets.
