Governor's Proposed Reforms for Enterprise Florida Supports Curry's Vision for Economic Development

Since assuming office, Mayor Lenny Curry has identified priorities key to Jacksonville’s success. Among them are increased and improved economic development. Earlier this year, Mayor Curry stood with Governor Rick Scott as Dane Grey of Elite Parking Services was awarded the Governor's Young Entrepreneurs Award. Support for entrepreneurship is one of the many ways both the city and state are facilitating efforts to strengthen economic development.
Since assuming office, Mayor Lenny Curry has identified priorities key to Jacksonville’s success. Among them are increased and improved economic development. Earlier this year, Mayor Curry stood with Governor Rick Scott as Dane Grey of Elite Parking Services was awarded the Governor's Young Entrepreneurs Award. Support for entrepreneurship is one of the many ways both the city and state are facilitating efforts to strengthen economic development. Recently, Governor Scott announced a series of proposed reforms for Enterprise Florida, Inc., a public-private partnership between Florida’s business and government leaders, to facilitate economic expansion in the state. The reforms aim to position Florida as a global leader for jobs and a diversified economy.
 
“I support the Enterprise Florida reforms proposed by Governor Scott,” said Mayor Curry. “Opportunities in Florida bring great potential to growing economic development and subsequently Jacksonville. Through these reforms, I look forward to the resources Enterprise Florida will create, placing Jacksonville as one of the nation’s most desirable areas for businesses and families as a result of strong job and economic growth.”
 
Governor Scott’s proposal to reform Enterprise Florida is aimed at improving the economic development process for recruiting and retaining business in Florida.
