The Duval County Health Department and Mayor Lenny Curry briefed the public on updates to the vaccine rollout and administration on Monday afternoon. Health Department officials are well aware of the issues citizens have had with making appointments through the phone bank and the website and are working hard to find a solution as soon as possible.

Mayor Curry announced that the City will be converting two of the existing COVID-19 testing sites into vaccine locations as early as the end of this week.

"Even though we do not control the vaccine supply chain, your city has shown the capacity to organize and operate multiple locations addressing COVID 19 concerns," said Mayor Curry. "For example, we secured one of the first testing sites in the country by working with our state and federal partners. We brought our own city sponsored testing sites online one day later."

Before making an appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, please read the following:

• Healthcare personnel with direct patient contact and individuals 65 years of age and older can make an appointment to get vaccinated. If you are not in one of these groups, please stay tuned for information on when you will be able to get vaccinated.
• All individuals are required to wear a face mask at all times and practice social distancing during the appointment.
• Appointment are required. No walk-ins are permitted.
• The dedicated appointment phone line is open Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
