Jacksonville City Council member Anna Brosche was one of 34 honorees recognized today at the 24th annual Mayor’s Environmental Awards Luncheon. The awards, recognize Duval County individuals and organizations for their demonstrated leadership, creativity and commitment to our local environment.
“We are very fortunate to live in a beautiful city with an abundance of natural resources,” said Mayor Lenny Curry. “We are as equally fortunate to have so many community stewards dedicated to improving and protecting our environment.”
Brosche was recognized alongside Duval County School Board members with the first-ever
Scenic Jacksonville Award for Civic Engagement & Environmental Stewardship. Brosche introduced bill
2016-487, which appropriates City funding to plant one tree at each of Duval County's 160 public schools. Trees are assets to our city that help improve the visual appeal of communities, reduce energy costs, remove air pollutants and more.
