Following the success of the inaugural event in 2015, the Duval County Clerk of Courts is proud to announce it will be holding another Operation Green Light Event in October. Joining with nearly 60 other Clerk’s Offices from around the State of Florida, Operation Green Light is a special program allowing individuals who have overdue traffic tickets or criminal fees to pay in full while waiving the 40% collections surcharge. That means
if your traffic ticket or criminal fine was issued in Duval County (Jacksonville, Baldwin or the Beaches) and is in collections, you are eligible to save the 40% collection fee if full payment is received by Friday, October 18 at 5 p.m..
The Clerk's Office will kick off Operation Green Light by opening up the Duval County Courthouse on Saturday, October 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for event participants only. Operation Green Light will then continue Monday, October 14 through Friday, October 18 at both the Duval County Courthouse and the Clerk’s beaches branch (1543 Atlantic Blvd) during regular business hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Those paying off fines will also be able to restore their driving privileges, which may have been suspended, once the outstanding fines and late fees are paid and there are no other pending issues on their driver’s licenses. The Clerk’s Office is partnering with the Duval County Tax Collector’s Office to allow customers the opportunity to reinstate a suspended license. As part of the Saturday event on October 12, the Tax Collector will open the Yates Branch (231 E. Forsyth St.) downtown from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in order to issue new licenses after fines and fees have been paid in the Clerk’s office.
During the rest of Operation Green Light, participants can visit any Tax Collector branch location during regular business hours.
