Award Recognizes Program’s Impact with local Small Businesses
The City of Jacksonville Small and Emerging Business program (JSEB) was named the 2019 Community Partner of the Year by the North Florida District of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

JSEB was created in 2004 to maximize procurement opportunities with city-registered certified small and emerging businesses as suppliers, prime contractors, and subcontractors of products and services.

In recent years, JSEB launched a new training program for participating businesses developed in partnership with other resource partners that assist small businesses, including the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Jacksonville Women’s Business Center (JWBC). Training classes focus on developing the business and technical skills needed to run a successful company.
Since 2015, the program has grown from 230 registered JSEB vendors to 252 in 2018, representing a 9.6% increase. Additionally, more than $78 million in city procurement contracts have been awarded to registered JSEB vendors since 2015.

Any local small or emerging businesses interested in joining the JSEB program are encouraged to visit jseb.coj.net, email jseb@coj.net or call (904) 255-8832.
