City, FSCJ to host Third Annual Vetrepreneur Summit

September 23, 2019
Event Encourages Military & Veteran Owned Small Businesses
The City of Jacksonville Military Affairs and Veterans Department and Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) are hosting the Vetrepreneur Summit 2019 on Friday, Sept. 27, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the FSCJ’s Kent Campus (3939 Roosevelt Blvd.)

“Jacksonville is a proud military town and we are committed to serving those who serve us,” said Mayor Lenny Curry. “My father was a ‘Vetrepreneur’ who opened a local television repair shop after retiring from the Navy. His example inspired me to start my own business, which prior to my election as your mayor was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. This summit empowers veterans and military members in our community to invest in themselves and our city with business ownership.”

The free event focuses on helping veterans, active duty service members, National Guard, reservists and military spouses get access to information and resources to assist them in starting or building their own business. The program will feature two panel discussions with subject matter experts and successful entrepreneurs, and exhibitors will be on hand to assist with attendees’ small business needs.

Attendance is free, but interested veterans are encouraged to register online at JaxVetSummit.com.
