The City of Jacksonville Needs Help Locating D-Day/Normandy Survivors

Mayor Lenny Curry and the City of Jacksonville are looking to honor local survivors of the D-Day/Normandy invasions at this year’s annual City of Jacksonville Memorial Day ceremony. (The 75th anniversary of the invasion is just days after Memorial Day 2019.)

Call for Volunteers for Earth Day Downtown Cleanup

The City’s Keep Jacksonville Beautiful Commission (KJB) and its partners, Hyatt Regency Jacksonville and Downtown Vision, Inc., are seeking volunteers for the 7th annual Earth Day Downtown Cleanup. Volunteers will join representatives from local businesses to pick up litter in the area inside of Liberty, Water, Jefferson and Church streets. Additionally, KJB will partner with the Springfield Preservation and Revitalization Council (SPAR) to spruce up Union and State streets from North Market Street to Main Street.

Kitten Season is Coming

In an effort to reduce the growing pet population that occurs during the spring and summer, citizens are encouraged to spay or neuter their cat(s), including outdoor community cats.
