Local Jacksonville credit union secures naming rights ahead of the 2020 season

Since 2018, there have been more than 22,000 cases of hepatitis A in the U.S. and more than 2,500 cases in Florida. On Aug. 1, 2019, Florida Surgeon General Scott Rivkees issued a Public Health Emergency to address the increase in Hepatitis A cases in Florida due to the current national outbreak. Despite the recent rise in cases, you can protect yourself from the virus and help stop hepatitis A in Florida, and in Jacksonville.

Mayor Lenny Curry is pleased to announce that Steve Riska, who has been serving as Interim Division Chief of Fire Operations with Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, is now permanently appointed to the position.

Kick off the new year with Friends of Hemming Park

Friends of Hemming Park is proud to host events in Hemming Park located at 135 W. Monroe Street in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville. All activities listed below are free and open to the public.

On January 6, 2020 waste collection schedules will be changing throughout the City of Jacksonville. These changes will effect residents serviced by ADS and SWS/Republic. Residents in the WastePro collection service area experienced a similar schedule shift on November 4, 2019. These changes do not affect apartment complexes, commercial businesses, multi-family housing communities, or other places that do not utilize residential waste collection services.

In observance of the New Year’s Day holiday, City government offices and facilities will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020.

The City of Jacksonville invites residents and visitors Downtown to ring in the New Year with fireworks over the St. Johns River. The fireworks will begin at midnight, Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020.
 

In observance of Christmas, the following City government offices and facilities will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24, and Wednesday, Dec. 25.
