Rebecca C. Lavie joined the Office of General Counsel in November 2021. Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel, Ms. Lavie spent eight years with the St. Johns County Office of the County Attorney, serving as a Senior Assistant County Attorney. Ms. Lavie has also served as an Assistant County Attorney for Clay County. Ms. Lavie’s government practice areas include procurement, contracts, public utilities, housing and community development, state and federal grant programs, Government in the Sunshine, public records, and ethics.

Ms. Lavie is a Jacksonville native and is a graduate of Florida State University and Tulane University Law School. While in law school, Ms. Lavie worked as a local government law research assistant and as a law clerk for the City of New Orleans.

Ms. Lavie is a Florida Bar Board Certified City, County and Local Government Attorney. She is admitted to the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the Florida Association of County Attorneys, the St. Augustine American Inn of Court, the Jacksonville Bar Association, and the Diocese of St. Augustine Catholic Lawyers Guild. She serves on the Finance and Tax Committee for the Florida Association of County Attorneys. Ms. Lavie is an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where she sings in the choir.
